The Rutherford School is located in a modern educational facility. Our campus is over 20,000 sq. feet and contains a full gymnasium, a high-tech computer lab, games / social room, an advanced science engineering and robotics lab, a spacious dining area, safe outdoor facilities for recreation, and WI-FI throughout the school.   • 1. For Students of Grade 9

    Students who register in Grade 9 will have the opportunity to:

    • Complete their high school education in 3 years if they start in the beginning of Grade 9
    • Fast-track by taking:
      • 5 credits during each semester
      • Attend Interactive Face-to-Face Online classes with regular teachers
      • Night classes for specific courses
      • On-campus co-op programs
    • Take the accelerated education program, and have the advantage of completing their post-secondary education sooner and getting an extra year of salary
    • On top of the investment of 1+ year to prosper in the workforce, students will be to be able to specialize in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math

    George joined the school when he was 9 years old. Getting personalized attention allowed him to skip several grades through-out elementary and middle-school, and got him early approval into our high school program. We proudly saw him graduate this year with top-grades and acceptance to the University of Toronto for his first-choice program. He will begin in September at the age of 16, and he is on track to achieve his goal of becoming a lawyer in the near future.

    Max is only 15 years old, but he has already completed most of his Grade 12 University classes. Public school classes were not challenging enough for him and he did poorly because he found them boring. However, he is now being challenged by University level problems in chemistry, biology and math, which keep him engaged in the classroom. He plans to complete the remaining courses next year and re-do a couple. This will allow him to improve his average from the high 80s to the high 90s, and get him a scholarship when he goes to University the following year.

    Ezra is a gifted student who has two comes from a well-educated background. At 14 years old, he already has his pilot certification and has sold some of his photography for an exhibition in an art gallery. He is already taking most of his Grade 11 University level courses and is also on track of graduating early through the accelerated program. He will definitely get into his first-choice University and begin his passion of medical research ahead of schedule.

  • 2. For Students of Grade 11-12

    Emphasis is placed on older students to ensure:

    • Proper and personalized guidance for choosing the correct University Program
    • Specialization in practical fields:
      • Business and Accounting
      • Engineering

    • In-depth preparation for transitioning into University by having Doctorate level teachers and advanced assignments / tests
    • Opportunity to take day, night or live-streamed online courses
    • Communicate with teachers from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
    • Weekly parental report from teachers, which discusses both student success and progress

    Eric transferred to our school from William Lyon Mackenzie since he wanted to go to Schulich School of Business, but only had an average of 80 in Grade 11. He got personal guidance from the business and mathematics teacher and got individual tutoring when he didn't understand a concept. By getting one-on-one attention, he was able to improve his average to above 95%. He got a full-entrance scholarship, graduated in the summer of 2014, and is now a second-year student of Schulich.

    Betty already graduated from a public high school a year ago, but did not get any acceptances from University due to her low average. She made the decision with her parents to try Rutherford Private School and get over her fear of Post-Secondary Education. This year, she recovered her knowledge of previous courses and was able to drastically improve due to the practical lesson plans. She got early acceptances from every University she applied to this past year, including Waterloo, Western, Guelph, and York. She will attend the Kinesiology program of Western University in September 2015 with a scholarship.

    Sharon previously attended Westmount C.I., and was getting an average in the high-80s, which wasn't enough for her future dream of being a doctor. After she made the switch to Rutherford Private School, her average was boosted to above 95% since she got more personal attention from her teachers. She was also able to land a co-op placement at Mount Senai Hospital with our school and got into the elite McMaster Bachelor of Health Sciences program that only accepts 150 students out of 2000+ applicants. In addition to getting into a program that sees 40% of its graduates pursue medicine in the future, as opposed to 10% in other Universities, she was also able to get an acceptance scholarship to help her pay for her program.

    Han is a younger student in Grade 10, but she has already shown dramatic improvement in all her classes. She has been able to maintain an average of above 90% in all of her courses by seeking out extra-help from her teachers. She is on pace to graduate at the top of her class, and she will have the option to choose between any University program she wants in 2 years time.

    Students who have busy personal lives can:

    • Customize their school timetable around any other commitments outside of school
    • Meet with teachers during night-class hours or conference with them online to answer questions and review content
    • Schedule their own due dates and test dates by speaking to teachers beforehand
    • Choose to take a mixture of day / night classes and to complete anything else through our interactive face-to-face online school
    • Focus on their studies by not worrying about the social pressures in crowded public schools

    Ulyna is a professional dancer who participates in several competitions across the GTA and around the world. While she is a studious student, she frequently misses some of her classes in order to pursue her passion of dancing. By communicating with her teachers, she has been able to create a personalized schedule for her tests and create flexible due dates for her assignments. She was able to complete her courses with an average above 85%, and did not have to give up her passion for dance in the process.

    Daniel has been attached to computers from an early age and cannot be spotted in the school without his laptop nearby. He was able to get an opportunity to work for a growing software business, and didn't want to drop-out of school to do so. Luckily, he was able to complete all of his University courses and get his acceptance while still working on the business idea most of the time. The investment of the private school paid off since he was able to help finish the software he was working on. He then received a massive grant from Visa and was even able to showcase his program during an Expo downtown, which then got the business exposure on Breakfast Television.

    Daniyar

    Daniyar recently came to Canada from Kazakhstan. He quickly showed a high-level of intelligence in math and was pushed to continue developing his physics and mathematical skills by solving University level equations. Despite having some problems with English, he was able to work closely with his teachers and got an early acceptance from Waterloo, UFT, and Ryerson. He is now in the top 5% of students across the country for math.

    Sally is an international student from China. She dreamed along with parents to get into the competitive Rotman's Commerce Program. The teachers of the school designed a special program that helped make her dream a reality by working through tests and examinations above the Grade 12 curriculum. She is currently in her second-year at UFT and is acing all her classes since she has already worked through similar concepts in our Private School.

    Anh came to Canada from Vietnam and had a hard time adjusting in public schools.
